Apple to Pay $95 Million
Apple will pay $95 million to settle a lawsuit alleging its Siri virtual assistant recorded users without consent. The lawsuit claimed that voice recordings were shared with advertisers. Apple denies any wrongdoing but opted for the settlement to avoid further litigation. Eligible users could receive up to $20 per device owned between 2014 and 2019. A court hearing to approve the settlement is scheduled for February 14, 2025.
Tesla Sales Dropped 1.1%
Tesla reported its first annual sales decline in over a decade with a 1.1% drop in 2024. The company delivered 1.79 million vehicles, down from 1.81 million in 2023, despite a 2.3% increase in the fourth quarter. This decline reflects slowing demand for electric vehicles amid increasing competition and an aging model lineup. Tesla's stock fell 6.1% following the announcement as analysts express concerns about future growth prospects.
