Nvidia’s surprise

Nvidia has finalized its acquisition of Israeli AI startup Run:ai for $700 million. In a surprising move, the company announced it will open source Run:ai's software which optimizes GPU usage. This decision may address regulatory concerns as Nvidia seeks to maintain its dominance in the AI market. The software will now be accessible to competitors like AMD and Intel. The acquisition marks a strategic expansion of Nvidia's AI capabilities.

PayPal’s Honey Extension

A YouTube creator has accused PayPal's Honey browser extension of being a major influencer scam. In a video titled "Exposing the Honey Influencer Scam," MegaLag claims Honey misleads users by blocking better coupon codes and hijacking affiliate links from influencers. This practice allegedly deprives creators of commissions while benefiting Honey financially. PayPal has defended Honey's operations but has not addressed the specific allegations regarding coupon limitations. The controversy has raised serious concerns about the extension's integrity among its 19 million users.

Americans Spent 23% Less

Americans reduced their spending on streaming services by 23% in 2024. The average monthly expenditure dropped to $42.38 from $55.04 the previous year. This decline is attributed to "streaming fatigue" affecting nearly 28% of consumers and increased spending on cable and satellite services. The average monthly cable bill rose to $89.29, prompting many to reassess their streaming subscriptions. Ad-supported streaming options are also gaining popularity as a cost-saving measure.
