9 Questions that you can ask your interviewer to stand out
Now, let’s jump in ↓
Indian Weddings Are Workouts (on the bank too)
Over the past week, I attended a wedding. You know how Indian weddings are — tons of events, multiple days, a lot of food.
It was also a workout. I closed my rings without having to go for the usual run or gym session:
Jokes aside, the wedding got me wondering: how big is the Indian wedding industry?
Quick Google search gets me:
KPMG 2017 report states that the Indian Wedding Industry is worth $40B-$50B. This is the second biggest in the world after the American Wedding Industry ($70B).
Firstly, I didn’t know the American Wedding industry is bigger than Indian. I thought India having more than 4x the population and a lower average age (28.7 years vs 38.5 years), would mean the industry is bigger than in the US.
But there could be 2 reasons for this:
1 USD ≈ 80 INR (Indian Rupee)
Cost of labour is much more expensive in the US
The Richest 500 Losing $1.4T Over a Year
The wealthiest individuals on the planet have most of their money in their own ventures (sometimes public, sometimes private) or other public companies.
Mr. Zuckerberg — Meta Platforms (previously Facebook)
Mr. Bezos — Amazon
Mr. Musk — Tesla, SpaceX
Hence, as Tesla’s and SpaceX’s valuations fluctuate, so does Elon’s net worth. And it’s the same for other wealthy individuals.
Pretty crazy to see the top 500 lose 1.4T over the past year in the bear market.
9 Questions to Ask Your Interviewer

“So do you have any questions for me?”
I never knew what to ask.
I never wanted to ask something obvious. I wanted to ask something smart but not come off as arrogant.
My favorite question to ask (from the thread below):
What Is The Most Unexpected Thing You’ve Learned While Working Here?
This question forces the interviewer to think and also prepares you better for what to expect (and learn) from the job.
